Dr. Manol Atanassov

About

Dr. Manol Atanassov has a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He graduated from the National College of Chiropractic in 2023. With 5 years spent competing internationally plus 15 years of coaching figure skating locally, he has been exposed to a wide variety of training environments and has both seen and experienced the stresses of top-level athletics.

Born in Bulgaria, Dr. Manol moved to the Chicagoland area with his parents at the start of 2nd grade in 1999. His figure skating career spent competing and performing in ice shows ended with an ankle injury near the end of his undergraduate studies. Seeing multiple doctors for this injury was unsuccessful until he saw a chiropractor trained at the National College of Chiropractic. Seeing the effectiveness of a well-trained chiropractor who treats the mechanical root cause instead of chasing symptoms, he decided to follow her footsteps and become a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Dr. Manol is now focused on using his understanding of biology and kinesiology (the study of the movement of the body) to treat patients and athletes using chiropractic and physiotherapy treatments that are evidence-based. This includes the use of acupuncture for pain control and for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. He is passionate about figure skating and continues to actively coach students of all levels.
